ESPN’s Joe Tessitore on the Dolphins’ run to 4-0

By Joe Tessitti ESPN Cri: Joe Tessiti, Joe TessITSU: Joe TSUBSCRIBED FROM ESPN EMAIL  The Dolphins are 4-1 and the AFC East is alive.

They have won three straight games and have a chance to win their second playoff spot since 2012.

The Dolphins have played three games in five days and the two teams are 2-5 on the season.

The Dolphins were playing at their own home and the Dolphins are 6-3-1 at Dolphin Stadium.

The Patriots were the first team to defeat the Dolphins in New England.

The Patriots trailed 20-7 early in the second quarter, but they rallied to tie the game at 23-23 with 6:04 left in the fourth quarter and beat the Dolphins 24-23.

The Pats’ defense held Miami to three points on three fourth-quarter drives, but Miami’s offense scored a season-high 42 points in the final 4:26 to win 31-28.

After the game, coach Dan Campbell talked about the Patriots’ defensive play in their victory.

He called it a great effort.”

You want to be a leader in the locker room, you want to go out there and you want the guys to believe in you,” Campbell said.”

So that’s what we’ve been doing.”

He also talked about what was on his mind at halftime.”

I don’t know if it was going to be enough,” Campbell joked.”

The Dolphins defense has been outstanding.

They’ve been dominant.

I’ve said this before, we’ve got to continue to play better, and that starts with our defense.”

Coach Belichick is always telling me we’re going to get better, but it’s all about our defense.”

The Patriots had a bye this week.

The team is not scheduled to return until Sunday.

The Saints beat the Chargers on Sunday, then won their final four games before losing to the Jets and Texans on Thursday night.

The Jets have lost four of their last five games and the Texans have lost seven of their past eight.

The Colts are 2.5-point underdogs against the Patriots in New Orleans, but have won four of five.

The Jets lost last week’s game at home to the Patriots.
